Star Trek : The Future Begins (5)

Was watching this movie with my sister and brother last Tuesday night. I was not expecting much since I'm not a Star Trek's fan; went along cause I didn't want to dissapoint my brother. So I'm not familiar with all Star Trek lingos - wrap, thrust, Klingons, Federation etc etc... but surprisingly the story was easy enough to understand even for an alien of Star Trek like me.

The beginning of the movie when the USS Kelvin (if i'm not mistaken) was attacked and Captain George Kirk send his heavily pregnant wife to evacuate the starship via shuttle craft, I was sms-ing with a collegue so it's just "hmmm....this wife of his look familiar tapi sapa ah?" and then when she was going through labour and the camera was focused on her face then its clicked! Those eyes... Dr.Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) from House M.D. Then in the middle of the movoe where they are introducing scene by scene the Enterprise crew members, I recognised another face instantly from House. He was just a guest star for the TV series but I remembered him being the masochist that was "disinherit" by his parents because he embarass them. I'm into House M.D these days, bought the dvd for Season 1 and 4, the part where he's just starting with new teams. I don't know which character intrigue me more, Wilson? Cameron? Kutner? 13?
And well, who wouldn't recognise Zachary Quinto from Heroes? He is really suitable as Spock. I hate Sylar in Season 1 of Heroes for there he's just a simple serial murderer. But then in the following seasons he started to have humanity beneath his evilness, so getting interesting. If no more Zachary Quinto in the next Heroes's season I might stop being follower...
So all and in all, maybe its the simple storyline that I like combine with interesting characters with their slapstick dry humour. It made me tempted to search for all Star Trek movies or TV series that gotta to do with USS Enterprise.

The Road Not Taken

The Road Not Taken
A Poem by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I like poem. It was so vague that it can be intrepreted into many meanings. Heard a snippet of this poem in the tv show 'Are You Smarter Than 5th Grader?' and was interested to know more. I think its the last paragraph that pique my interest "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by". Lives are all about choices and oppurtunity cost (keluar economic ku tarus). In this poem the writer dared to be different and choose the path that seldom people had chosen.

My intrepretation for the third paragraph, he said he would try the other path (the other choice) another time but though deep inside he knows there's no turning back. So the poem in one hand told us to be brave and take the risk, not just following the herd, or go with the flow. In a deeper level, you might do a u-turn and take the other option, but its just won't be the same as it would have been if you had taken it the first time around. It does not moralize about the choice you made, it simply says that choice is inevitable but you never know what your choice will mean until you have lived it.

Wishing to turn over a new leaf

Taubat Seorang Hamba - Irsyadee ft. Hafiz Hamidun

Hati hiba mengenangkan
Dosa-dosa yg ku lakukan
Oh Tuhan Maha Kuasa
Terima taubat hamba berdosa...

Ku akui kelemahan diri
Ku insafi kekurangan ini
Ku kesali kejahilan ini
Terimalah...
Terimalah...
Terimalah...
Taubatku ini.....

Telah aku merasakan derita
Jiwa dan perasaan
Kerana hilang
Dari jalan
Menuju redhaMu ya Tuhan.

Ku akui kelemahan ini
Ku insafi kekurangan ini
Ku kesali kejahilan ini
Terimalah...
Terimalah...
Terimalah...
Taubatku ini...

Di hamparan ini ku meminta moga taubatku diterima...

Ku akui kelemahan ini
Ku insafi kekurangan ini
Ku kesali kejahilan ini
Terimalah...
Terimalah...
Terimalah...
Taubatku ini...

Ku akui kelemahan ini
Ku insafi kekurangan ini
Ku kesali kejahilan ini
Terimalah...
Terimalah...
Terimalah...
Taubatku ini...

I'tiraf - Raihan ft. Yasin and Putra Putri Raudhah

Wahai Tuhan
Ku tak layak ke surgaMu
Namun tak pula aku sanggup ke nerakaMu
Ampunkan dosaku

Terimalah taubatku
Sesungguhnya Engkaulah pengampun dosa-dosa besar

Ilahi lastu lil firdausi ahlaa
Wa laa aqwa 'alaa naaril jahiimi
Fahabli taubataw waghfir dzunuubi
Fa innaka ghofirudz dzam bil 'adhiimi

Dosa-dosaku bagaikan pepasir di pantai
Dengan rahmatMu ampunkan daku oh Tuhanku

Wahai Tuhan selamatkan kami ini
Dari segala kejahatan dan kecelakaan
Kami takut, kami harap kepadaMu
Suburkanlah cinta kami kepadaMu

Kamilah hamba yang mengharap belas dariMu

In Love with Jason Mraz

Life is Wonderful (To me life is ironic)

It takes a crane to build a crane
It takes two floors to make a story
It takes an egg to make a hen
It takes a hen to make an egg
There is no end to what I'm saying

It takes a thought to make a word
And it takes some words to make an action
And it takes some work to make it work
It takes some good to make it hurt
It takes some bad for satisfaction

Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la

It takes a night to make it dawn
And it takes a day to make you yawn brother
And it takes some old to make you young
It takes some cold to know the sun
It takes the one to have the other

And it takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is
And it takes some fears to make you trust
It takes those tears to make it rust
It takes the dust to have it polished

Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la

It takes some silence to make sound
And it takes a loss before you found it
And it takes a road to go nowhere
It takes a toll to make you care
It takes a hole to MAKE a mountain

Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life is meaningful
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life is meaningful
Ah la la la la la la life is full of
Ah la la la la la life is so full of love
Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life is meaningful
Ah la la la la la life is full of
Ah la la la la la life is so full of love

p/s: I don't know whats wrong with me today. Got lots to do, but I'm surfing youtube for songs that i like.

Come Back To Me

Woken up to this song by David Cook this morning and can't get it out of my head... how do you lost yourself?

You say you gotta go and find yourself
You say that you're becoming someone else
Don't recognize the face in the mirror
Looking back at you

You say you're leavin
As you look away
I know theres really nothin left to say
Just know i'm here
Whenever you need me
I'll wait for you

So i'll let you go
I'll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you come back to me

Take your time i wont go anywhere
Picture you with the wind in your hair
I'll keep your things right where you left them
I'll be here for you

Oh and i'll let you go
I'll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you, come back to me

And i hope you find everything that you need
I'll be right here waiting to see
You find you, come back to me

I can't get close if your not there
I can't get inside if theres no soul to bear
I can't fix you i can't save you
Its something you have to do

So i'll let you go
I'll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you, come back to me
Come back to me
So i'll let you go
I'll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you, come back to me

And i hope you find everything that you need
I'll be right here waiting to see
You find you, come back to me

When you find you, come back to me
When you find you, come back to me
When you find you, come back to me

Hua Mulan

Mulan is my favorite Disney's princess. I could watch this cartoon over and over again and still manage to crack a smile here and there. It was then when I watch this cartoon 2 weeks ago along with my 5-years-old and 17-years-old nephews that the eldest one made a comment that makes me laugh. He said, " Did you notice how "gay" this cartoon is? Look at how protective Captain Li Shang is of Mulan? and how dissapointed and angry he is when he found out Mulan is really a she?"

Well, I think its the case of 'Coffee Prince' again, its not so much that he's angry over the fact that he is a female but more on the deceits and lies he had been given. So yeah, I still love Mulan! Like Mulan's grandma say. "Sign me up for the next war"... Haha... No, I don't wish for a senseless war really!

The funny Mulan's war camaraderie...

Then there's the soundtrack... simply fall in love with Reflection at first hearing!

or smile and sing along to these two ^_^

A Girl Worth Fighting For

I'll Make A Man Out of You

Oh yeah they are filming the movie Mulan and Zhao Wei (picture below) is casted to play Hua Mulan (hurray! I like her). Other actress who was considered for the role I read were Zhang Ziyi, Michelle Yeoh (tuha kali ah!) and Liu Yifei....
