Oh! Pil Seung and Bong Soon Young (3)

Before I start on Pil Seung...Yeay! Yi San Vol.2 is here! I wasn't planning on buying any new drama, I was window-shopping for a birthday present for my friend when I saw Yi San Vol.2 on the shelf. I was debating with myself, should I buy or should I not? You only have 5 days left before going off to Taiwan, when would you have time to watch it? The warranty for exchange is only for two weeks, what if its something wrong with your copy? I could bring my pc to Taiwan with me, and watch it at the hotel, by the time the 2 weeks is over, I'll finish it off for sure... Bringing the laptop? berat lah...and are you sure you wont fall staright to sleep at the hotel after tending the booth from 10-6, then rush to do some shopping before the shop closes, like you always did? Oh well, just finish Pil Seung, so I can finish 3 out of 7 dvds before wednesday, maybe 2 dvds at Taiwan, so left over 2 after I got back...sounds like a plan! and off I go to the cashier before I change my mind again. Haha...if there were other shoppers observing me, I don't know what they would be thinking watching me go back and forth the dvds shelf, taking the boxset out and putting it back. Now, its sunday, two more days to go and finish off already 1 dvd...I'm just a bit behind schedule ^_^ Its raining the whole day today, ideal day to curl under the sheet, in bed, watching tv and falling to sleep... cant believe its 7pm already! How times flies when you wish it wont.................

Busan born and raised Oh Pil Seung was running away from his creditors...to Seoul. Unbeknownst to him, in Seoul a young man life's was taken in a car accident, leaving an empire business without a heir. The grandmother 'fortunately' remember that her son had sired another son, albeit illegitimate and beforehand she wont acknowledged him and the mother. Desperate time calls for desperate measure; beggers cant be chooser - so off she sends her right-hand man to search for the long-lost grandson.

Pil Seung was stranded at Seoul Station, with no funds and the only friend he has in Seoul hang up the phone on him, because he still hold a grudge. So there he was countng his last cents when a drunken lady (Boon Soon Young) stumbled on him-scattering his coins everywhere- without an apology or even a glance back. When he halt and berated her, the table was turn on him, how can you reason with a drunk person? He was accused of stealing her bag, and together they were brought to the police station. What a coincidence! as it turned out, she was the sister of his friend, so he get to stay at his friend house after all. With her help, he get a job at the supermarket she works at. Pil Seung and Soon Young ends up being good friend.

It was here, while chasing Pil Seung for telling their workmates an embarassing story about her that she stumbled again with Yoon Jae Woong, the playboy, confident, tall and handsome Senior Manager of the head office of the supermarket. Jae Woong finally met a woman who resisted his charms and wouldnt spent a one-night stand with him, but how can Soon Young resist him for long when he pursue her so earnestly then?

The grandmother finally track Pil Seung and brought him to her house and get him installed in the office. She also alotted her deceased grandson's fiancee, Noh So Joung as Pil Seung assistant, to teach him the ropes so to speak. It shows how kind-hearted Pil Seung is that he didnt even think of holding a grudge to his grandmother who chases him and his mother away so long ago. He tried to learn as much as and as fast as he can, he tried to fit in although he know that some laugh behind his backs, he just put on a brave front and smile - for the sake of the grandmother. In the meantime, his heart is breaking too when he see the blossoming romance between Soon Young and his arch-rival Jae Woong, He was in love with Soon Young ever since their night sojourn at the police station.

But don't worry, Pil Seung you have the beautiful smart and talented Noh So Joung standing behind you. Close encounters with Pil Seung, getting to know him better, she falls in love with Pil Seung. Although feeling guilty at first for forgetting her dead fiance so fast to the point she quit her job, but she cant just sit idle and worrying about Pil Seung, so she take her job again. She said to Jae Woong there were many ways to love a person. See, Soon Young soon founds out that her feelings for Pil Seung runs deeper than mere friendship, she thought she was in love with Jae Woong just because who wouldn't??? and he was so pityful and emotionally insecure at times...

So who would Soon Young chose the charismatic Jae Woong or the free-spirited Pil Seung? Can Pil Seung rise up to the challenge to be the president of the company? Was he the true biological grandson or just a fake?

I would enjoy this drama very much if I haven't watch tons of other dramas before. So it was a slow drama for me, where there's no villain. Just normal people getting on with their normal lives, making daily decisons. If it was in real life, wouldn't it be nice if Pil Seung's assistant end up with Jae Woong? but if its drama, oh come on...what sappy 'everyone-lives-happily-ever-after ending ' tia ^_^

Oh yeah, isnt the lady playing Pil Seung's step mom Lee Hye Sook? Soo Bin's mom in You Are My Destiny? The ajumma in My 19 Year Old Sister In Law? She was loud and abrasive there with big hair, but here she was more demure and subdued so I'm not sure....

Had finished watching this drama weekss ago, but fudge this was the worse fasting month for me. At work I had no time to read my personal email, or browse through the internet, the workload keep piling up!!!!! There were days I was still typing on my desk until the normal working hours when everyone had already left for home exactly at two :( I was running around with several tasks in my head. There's one day when one officer asked me about something, and I answered I'll check it later (My memory space is getting crowded these days). And that person reply back I shouldn't have to check it again, I should've KNOWN since I'm the fucking secretary of the committee. "Sesungguhnya aku sedang berpuasa" or else.... Haha as if! I'd still swallowed the retort back even if I'm not fasting. Its not that I dont have the backbone to be sarcastic back but I'm thinking of the long term, how uncomfortable the work environment would be if I just say what I please to those thoughtless people. There were times when I was too late to bite my tongue, I really regret what I say :( Kata orang, "Terlajak kereta boleh reverse or u-turn, terlajak kata...unless you have the power to erase one's memory...regret/sorry is useless"

Back to the drama, I feel its been a long time since I can't guess the ending of the drama; who's gonna end up with whom. So I was really addicted to watch the next episodes and the next until I reach half of the drama. Its about two successful women and the two guys; one down on his luck and the other just starting on his career - in short the women have the 'power' here, the one who did the rescuing ^_^

Oh Seung Ah (Kim Ha Neul) is a famous successful actress albeit the fact she really can't act well. Having enough of her abusive, controlling Manager, she went in search of another agency after her contract with him expires. But all the other agency are all the same, so she went to Jang Ki Joon (Kim Bum Soo), the agent who help her when she was just starting on the entertainment business. Jang Ki Joon's agency was just being declared bankrupt, and the only actors he got left was two unknown talents. When, Seung Ah came to him, it was a boost to his spirit as well as his agency.

Lee Kyung Min (Park Yong Ha) was a drama PD who got his first chance at being a director. Seo Young Eun (Song Yoon Ah) is a much sought after script writer who was divorced and has a young son. Kyung Min feels that all her scripts lacks depth and only cares about viewers rating, he asked her to make some changes, a complete overhaul to be correct. In response, she flew away to Taiwan and he had a hard time convincing her to come back and work with him on the drama.There are two scenes where I like the most ^_^ First, when Ki Joon shield Young Eun's face from the sun with his palms. How it rattled Kyung Min and Seung Ah 's feathers but they try not to show it - I said try, Kyung Min made snide remarks about how big Young Eun's face is but the two person didn't understand. Second, when they played 'Truth or Dare" and everyone not wanting to reveal the truth but prefer to drink the wine instead.

It is here that I was intrigued, did he fall in love with Seung Ah years ago when she came to him wanting to be an actress, and did she likewise fall for him too? Or was he in love with the suicide actress or just feeling guilty because he couldnt save her? Who's the person he said he was in love with for years?????

This drama tries to show behind the scene of a drama production. But is it really like this? They have the beginning and have an idea about the ending but didnt know whats in between? And all the actresses and actors can also influence the way the story goes? Wow! I dont wanna be at the writers' shoes.

Overall, I like this drama. but does it make me rush to my favourite shop to buy another set. No. Maybe the fact that I dont have time to watch it does affect it a bit. Didnt like Kim Ha Neul or Song Yoon Ah before but in this drama they kinda okay, adorable in fact for SYA, though KHN I still have reservation. The other two lead actors- never seen them before though I'm planning to watch Surgeon Bong Dal Hee somewhere in the future. What about the mix-blood Ricky Lee Neely? His korean might be better than Daniel Henney or dreamy Dennis Oh but he was not that handsome in a close shot and still look awkward acting...so I don't see him jump to fame too quickly. Another similarities they all three shared is their wooden acts...hehehe. But I would watch Dennis's drama if its interesting; wooden acts won't matter, he's such an eye candy ^_^

Breaking Dawn

I had the book in my possession for four days before finally brave myself to start reading it, I dont know why I'm kinda hesitant then when I was so fired up to know the ending before... Well, anyway I like the ending of these series (unlike Harry Potter, hmph!). The book was told from two perspective; Bella and Jacob and then back to Bella. I like it better when told from Jacob's perspective :) Not that I hate Bella as from the previous three books, here she seems more tolerable.

Anyway the ending Bella, Edward and Jacob get their happy ending. Though I'm not overly content with Jacob's happy ending. "Imprinting" somehow steal someone freedom of choice; willpower, but hey all in all, I dont think there's a very satisfying happy ending for Jacob; for him to simply fall in love with another girl without the 'soulmate' syndrome will make him a fickle man.

The questions lingering in my mind was about the wolves pack. After all the troubles were overcomes, they remained two separate packs? Because of his 'object of imprintment' Jacob abandon his early plans to leave his village and his former pack, right? So one pack would have Sam as their Alpha and the other Jacob? What would become of Leah? Will she remain bitter and feeling left-out? or wont she found her own soulmate also someday?

Hmm...wonder what children would a half-vampire and a werewolf have? Opps! There are not werewolves; but shape shifters lah...If not because of the 'confrontation' at the ending I would not notice the difference between werewolves and shape-shifters. Werewolves doesnt change into wolves by will, only when there's full moon and when they can infected someone to become like them by biting, while shape-shifter its in the genes and cannot be transfered to another.

Crazy For You (3)

What would you do if you fall in love with the person who caused the death of the person you were in love before? Even if its accidental, even if its unintentional; but the fact remains the same - he/she was the reason that your beloved's life was cut short. Even if you could forgive him/her, but would you be able to be with him/her with a clear conscience? would you be able to forget that 'fact'?

Suh Jin Young absorbed herself with work after her fiance was killed in road accident the day before their wedding day. Their bestfriend Hyun Chul went abroad and left her alone dealing with her own grief because he himself was in love with her. He was on the phone with his friend when his friend got hit. The last word he said to Hyun Chul was he knows about Hyun Chul feeling and he trust him...then the sound of BAM! He went back after 5 years, thinking he was cured of his feeling but just one look and all those 5-years effort was useless...

Kim Chae Jun cant get a stable work being an ex-convict, but Director Suh Jin Young give him a chance as an aviation mechanic. Then his childhood sweetheart Min Hee left him because she dont like to live in poverty. She knows that he's willing to work hard for her to get whatever it is she want. But that just it, not anybody had to work hard just to get a bigger tv. Min Hee was materialistic in a nice way, you could understand her frustration and ambition. Furthermore, it gives reason for Min Hee to let go of Chae Jun's hand first ^_^ Chae Jun was falling for the kind and baeutiful Jin Young and she was falling for the hard working, honest, charming, cheerful Chae Jun.

Then, they later found out it was Chae Jun who hit Jin Young's fiance. It didnt help their relationship either by the fact that Jin Young was living with her dead fiance's parents as if she really are their daughter-in-law. To not broken everyone hearts, she kinda broke up with Chae Jun and try to hate him and even wished that he got beaten to death. She no longer can hide from reality by using her working endlesssly. She cant forget Chae Jun. Was it worth it to make everyone happy by living in misery? Or would you be able to be happy when you know you had broken many hearts? Tough choice, but if I were her, they were not my real parents anyway...

Then there's Min Hee and Hyun Chul. Pityful Min Hee, its alright for her to see Chae Jun in pain because of her, but when it was because of another woman, she can's stand it. Pityful, Hyun Chul, happy to be married to the one he love knowing she's in love with another man.

My 19 Year Old Sister-in-Law (3)

Its been awhile since I post about my kdrama, partly because I was finishing off the Stephenie Meyer's New Moon and Eclipse and the other because I only got Vol.1 for Yi San...sigh! when will Vol.2 be available??????? When I watched the whole drama then I'll post something about it.....

After falling in love with Yoon Kye Sang in 'Who Are You', I simply wanna watch his other works, and since my niece had this drama ^-^ I'll just have to borrow from her. (Currently in the process of watching Crazy For You - looks promising!)

First of all this drama shouldnt be titled as such, since it told the story when she was 19 and 24 years old. It's about a 19 year old girl, Yoo Min who after the death of her mother when she was 4, was left/abandoned in a train by the two aunts who works at her mother's restaurant. She was later adopted by the couple who found her and later when her adopted father lost at sea and the adopted mother left for parts unknown, she alone take cares of her sick adopted brother, Kang Pyo. She didn't remember much of her childhood, she thought she was abandoned by her parents, so she wants to ask them, even if they are so poor, did they even try to take care of her? She took care of the sick Kang Pyo who don't have any blood relation to her- no matter how hard and trying it is- why couldnt they?

Because of her brother illness, she frequented the hospital Min Jae works at and had a crush on him for years and accidently when she was 19 she meets Seung Jae- the younger brother of Min Jae-who at the time was running away from home. To deter his mother effort to marry him to some socialite, Min Jae gets in an engagement contract with Yoo Min and they all end up living at Min Jae's house. The contract expire when his first love return back to him.

Unexpectedly, Seung Jae and Yoo Min are going to the same high school and those close encounters make him fall in love with her. But he hide it all inside, because he love his brother so much, who also began to develop tender feelings for Yoo Min

I was guessing it was 50-50 at first, which brother she end up with, but then there are more interaction between Seung Jae and Yoo Min rather than with Min Jae so its sorta tipped towards Seung Jae at the end. But the past started unraveling, so maybe she wont choose either brother.... See its their mother who left her on the train!

On the other hand, Yoo Min's father who got amnesia from a car accident when she was four is looking for her again after being told the truth by his father of his marriage and the daughter he never knew he had. He met Su Ji, Yoo Min's childhood friend (one of the aunts' daughter) who remembered him. She knew what her mother had done, so she covered it up by telling Yoo Min's father that her daughter was dead in an accident when she was 9 years old. Funnily enough he bought it, without needing further proof. Even if they dont have grave or they scattered the ashes away at sea or higher ground, don't they have death certifcates or something??? He later sort of treated Su Ji as his surrogate daughter. Not only Su Ji would lose so much if the trut was revealed, she was also in love with Seung Jae who regards her as a sister only...

I didnt like her in this drama - too over, too fake. Then I found that she was no longer among the living. Feeling sad suddenly... Life, you'll never know when its your turn...

Hee...he was older than Kim Jae Won but he played the younger siblings. I thinks its in his smile so young and carefree...but it contrast with his sad eyes... Heehe...by the many pics I posted here, you can guess that he ranks among the top of my Kactors now, maybe even my no.2 ^_^

Eclipse

Did I say 2 gimme 2 weeks? Hehe this novel is more gripping than the previous two, that it only took me a day and a half. Maybe partly because it was another quiet Saturday night and I feel the need to be downstairs rather than holed up in my room with my kdramas.

Meyer's Eclipse gives me a glimpse of hope for Jacob, but at the same time make me feel sorry for Edward too. Sigh! Its reasonable for Bella to fall in love with two great person, but for them to fall for the temperamental Bella? it boggles the mind - but they said cupid is blind.

I have lots of jumbled thoughts in my head after finishing this novel, that to put it in writing will not make sense even to myself. So I'm gonna make this post short and simple. The epilogue of this novel "nearly" made me shed a tear for Jacob. I empathize with Edward too, but he got the silly girl, didnt he? Sigh! I read my niece blog that she got her hand on Breaking Dawn already, wonder of she can finish it off in 2 days......

I was listening to Ressa Herlambang's Menyesal again, but I think 6ixth Sense's Tak Bisa Memilihmu (I do like Nubhan's version better, but I already posted his video before) is more appropriate...

New Moon

Silent day today...maybe because the house next door was empty. I need to have my car cleaned, tapi malas to clean myself and to hantar to a car wash - nah, dont want to go out. I know I'll end up entering a cds shop somewhere buying either Hong Gil Dong, On Air, or Oh Pil Seung (or all!!!!) or buying some movies that I dont have any time to watch.

Anyway, just finish up New Moon today. It has such as slow beginning that it takes me weeks to finished it - one chapter at a time. Then things started to get interesting with reappearance of Jacob Black - not that he's left or anything (unlike Edward, hmph!), just that his character becomes more prominent.

See, Edward cleaned up everything and left Bella because of the incident on Bella's birthday. So young Bells become a zombie for months, that was until she decided to break her promise and live recklessly - by riding a motorcycle! She enlisted Jacob's help. It turns out his life was destined for greater purpose - protecting his people.

Then, Edward comes back into her life - oh no! and she had to choose if its Edward or Jacob - and of course she choose Edward with his coldness rather than Jacob's warmth. Well, maybe I'm prejudiced because Jacob destined to be the 'underdog' in this story - so naturally I'll take his side. Not that I hate Edward but its just he's too in control, too cold...

I never found werewolves endearing before. I remembered the movie Underworld, they depict the werewolves as worse than vampire, in that they completely transformed into an animal and lost their human instincts and feelings. But in this novel, you kinda grow fond of them... Hope Jacob have a happy ending... I'm gonna start on Eclipse now.

Oh, there's the part where Bella compares her lifestory with Romeo & Juliet. I think this Shakespear's little tragedy gotten so famous among his other works because the lead character died so young. I was never fascinated with R&J, this grand romance that they would rather be dead than live without the other. So selfish! Taking the easy way out- coward! Which makes me wonder how Meyer gonna end this syory with Breaking Dawn...would Edward turns mortal again? or would Bella turns immortal? Would they have their happy ending or died when the other died? Since this book was targetted for young adults, I dont think Meyer would want to show an example that suicide is okay if the love-of-your-life is no longer alive....

What I also found funny is 20-year-old Bella sees herself as someone responsible and cautious. She is???!!! Isnt she the one who begged (or is it forced?) for Edward to change her into a vampire - did she consider the point beyoooooooooooooond where she will spend forever with Edward? I'm intrigued by why she's immune to the vamps' special power, but apart from that she's just a normal-high-strung teenager who's obsessed with someone who is too much for her to handle.

The saleslady at BestEastern promise me that their shipment of Breaking Dawn comes next week, so give my niece a week time to read it - so that's two weeks, enough time for me to finish up Eclipse ^_^
